Just because you don't know about them doesn't mean they don't exist. Mint, and Linux in general, has PLENTY of easy ways to terminate a process. The system monitor works too, even if there is no window or anything else visible. another way is to add the 'Force quit' applet to your panel, which does exactly the same thing but is easier for those of us who prefer clicking on things. They had a Linux version but after trying to get it to work with a modern Linux version I had to spend a few hours with my bartender and my shrink. XMMS used to be good, but they did away with the native GUI and made it a command-line player.īTW, Winamp is available.sort of. QMMP is about the closest thing I found to Winamp that has a GUI. What's even more annoying is the fact there's no tray icon nor window now that I have done this, and having Mint no way to easily terminate processes (ctrl alt canc - I miss you so much win xp) I'm gonna reboot once again after I post this. I figured out how to make the Open WIth - Clementine appear, but when I tried to do that on a folder with various MP3, the first song played and after that I kept seeing Clementine Stopped on and on on the top right corner of my screen. Main window is huge and totally cluttered. Can't right click on a folder and Play All.
